Dear Friend,

God has been so good and has shown His faithfulness to me in amazing ways, especially over this past semester as a student at Bob Jones University. God has been there, leading and guiding me through some very difficult times.

The purpose of this letter is to tell you of the opportunity that God has opened up for me. I’m going on a missions’ trip with the Bob Jones University Musical Mission Team. We will be spending the summer ministering through song. We will hold concerts in ministry partnership with local churches throughout Europe. The concerts of singers from America create quite an attraction for the locals, and many unsaved people attend these concerts who would otherwise not set foot in a church.

We sing hymns arranged for us; someone preaches the gospel; we talk to the locals after the service; and each person is given a gospel tract. I am told that an important aspect of the trip is having God work in our lives as we see the needs on a foreign mission field. Recently, I saw a short video clip of a preacher I highly respect, urging young Christians to get off the blogs and stop making idols of their favorite celebrities and preachers and to go to the mission field, in an area that has no one to preach the gospel, and to give their lives for the preaching of the gospel. While I don’t feel particularly gifted or called to foreign missions, I have no business saying, “I want to be a pastor,” and giving God no opportunity to lead me to missions.

Please pray for me this summer and for the thousands of people that we, as a team, will interact with and to whom we will give tracts.

Pray that God would do a mighty work in my life as well, to make me a more fit vessel for His service.
Also, please pray that God would provide the necessary funds. The trip costs about $5000. I joined the team late, which is why I’m not in the group shot, and I’m getting a late start on my fund raising.

If you can help financially, and you want to do it via Paypal (and not use any of the listed ways on the back of the enclosed sheet), please send gifts to: MusicalMissionTeam2011@gmail.com.  If you would like a tax receipt, please follow the instructions on the back of the enclosed letter.

You may keep up with me (personally) through my own blog this summer, which is found at: http://andysmissiontripeurope.blogspot.com/  If you would like more information or have other questions, feel free to email me at the email address given below.

I want to thank you for taking the time to read this letter. I do covet your prayers. Without the working of the Holy Spirit in the hearts, our efforts will be in vain. Please add me to your daily prayer list. Thank you very much.

In Christ,

Andy Woodard

These are the two pages of Andy's newsletter if you want to read more...

I would like for you all to be able to read the letter that he has written for the mission trip that he is going on this summer.

However, I've made it really easy, as we've made it possible for anyone who wants to help him with the music team .. you can go to the site and put in a $10 gift through the site: Click on: MEDIA in the AISLE by AISLE or else you can just send it straight through paypal as a GIFT to:

MusicalMissionTeam2011@gmail.com

THANK YOU SO MUCH for your help in this effort.

His team has 27 people on it and he was one of the last to join the team.
