Cassandra, HI! I just wanted to tell you that I am a mom who has been couponing for years. The best and easiest thing to do is make a list/note of all the products you currently use, food, health and beauty, paper products, ect. and the collect coupons for those things as well as any new products you'd like to try. If you are purchasing items you really don't need, then you aren't saving.
Most of us stock pile items that have a long shelf life, for instance, if toliet paper is on sale and I have a coupon making the price much lower than I normally pay, then instead of buying 1 to last the rest of the week, I would purchase 5 or 10 so I wouldn't have to buy for the next month or two.
I am a mom of 4 kids so when I have good coupons for granola bars or cereal (making them practically free) I don't buy 1, I purchase 4-5, because I know they will be eaten before they go bad.
You have to weigh what you use VS. the sale.
The sunday paper is a good place to start but also check with your favorite store to see if they have a rewards card, the coupon clippers is a great place to find coupons

, there are printables coupons that you can print from Smart source(if your store accepts them), you can also contact companies directly and ask if they can send you coupons or where to find their coupons.
You also need to be organized, if you can't find the coupon then you can't use it. I have a coupon organizer that I purchased (Rachel has a few on her site) and then I organize by the store layout. Health and beauty in one folder, can and box food in another, refrig sections and one for freezer section, ect. if you have a pet or baby, a section for that would work too.
I hope these tips help you get started, I am sure others will have good tips! if you have anymore questions, just ask, we are all here to help!
Michelle
