Info on Walgreens RR

I didn't notice this, and I'll bet there are a lot of you who didn't notice, either, but, these Register Rebates are labeled "manufacturer's coupon." It's there on the top left of the coupon. I bought the Nutriste and Duracell items that are in the rebate book this month. I used a 75 cent coupon on Duracell and $1 on the Nutriste. Because I used these manufacturer's coupons, I could not use any of the RR's. The cashier patiently explained it to me and pointed out that you can only use one manufacturer's coupon per item ( well, yeah, we knew that). So, you have to decide whether to use the smaller ones and save your RR's for later, or forego the small value coupons. What really annoys me is that these RR's are only good for 2 weeks. Now, I'm going to have to buy a lot of crap I don't need to use them all up!

Walgreens needs to dump this program and start over. There are putting so many rules and restrictions on things that it's no fun. I have even heard stories about people being accused of scamming or stealing with the soap deal they have running right now. If they are dumb enough to run a deal like that and we are smart enough to find it then we are entitled to it. How are we stealing when they offered the sale and we have the coupon. It is not out fault they tied a RR to the deal. They should have better people on staff in corporate to watch for these things. And my other complaint are the cashiers and managers who act like we are gonna take the company into bankruptcy. For the few of us who use coupons there are dozens more who check out and pay full price. These people will keep drug stores running forever. After all the stuff I have read on some other boards, I haven't even dared the Walgreen deals this week. The woman make me so mad on a normal day, I know I would go nuts on a deal like this.
O.K. I'm done, Have a nice evening!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had the same problem a couple of weeks ago(razor deal) because the RR is a manufacturers coupon, but, you can use other manufacturer coupon along with RR, at least here in Mass.
In Mass. you can only use one coupon per item, if you have coupons for every item, buy a candy bar don't use a coupon for it, then you can use the RR with that order.
I agree the employees at Walgreen's do act like you are doing something wrong. The manager at my local Walgreen's confronted me about all my coupons and RR during the razor deal and said ,"you couponers", he meant it as a put down, I took it as a compliment and told him,"see you next week!"

Today I purchased quite a few items at Walgreens and at check-out, presented several of the RR from the soap deal. She said, "I don't think you can use that many. The manager's been getting mad because people are using so many of them." I said, "Well, scan it and if I can't use them all, the register will tell you." She scanned and the register took all of them, so, HAHA to the management that think there's too many coupons floating around.

I had a similar problem with the RRs on the Fusion razor. The explanation I was given was that the RR could be used for anything except another Fusion, due to quantity limits. I did use it together with a regular coupon on a different product and it worked. This belies the claim that RRs are manufacturers coupons. If they were, you could not use two coupons on one item. I think RRs are similar to CVS Extra Care Bucks which in fact are a form of STORE CREDIT. If you buy a taxable item for $3 with a $3 RR or $3 ECB, you owe no tax. If RR or ECB were manufacturers coupons you would owe tax.
